Sadly for the human race, oral yeast infection is a common illness that is affecting a good many of us in each part of the planet. The rationale why such an infection happens is due to presence of a fungus called Candida albicans which when it is in quantities that are not in the right balance in relation to good bacteria leads to overgrowth of the fungus that in turn will end up in an oral yeast infection. Oral yeast infections, often called thrush, most frequently affect youngsters and older adults. However, for people who are taking antibiotics or for those whose immune systems have been compromised by chemical treatment, radiation treatments, or sicknesses of the immunity mechanism like AIDS, thrush and other oral yeast infections can occur more often and are often an indication of a serious weakness to other opportunistic infections. |
