Eat a well-balanced diet rich in whole grains, fruits, plants and low fat dairy products. Keep vaginal area clean, and use mild water and soap to scrub it. If diabetic, control the blood sugar levels as it lowers the risk of vaginal yeast infections. After using toilet, use tissue paper to wipe from back so the yeast does not spread from anus to vagina. Rather than tampons, use pads as tampons may soak up the drugs. If vaginal area is distressed and swelled up, take a warm bath, or put a cool, damp fabric on the area, but don’t rub.
